Mike Bloxsome

Mike Bloxsome was born in Cardiff in 1932 where he lived through the 1940-41 Blitz. His National Service was served with the Intelligence Corps, where he learnt Russian. Graduating from the University of Wales, he taught History in Newport, later becoming a scriptwriter for BBC Radio 4. Now retired, he occasionally works as a Russian interpreter for Newport City Council.
